In 2017, Franklin Township was awarded a grant in the amount of $39,343. for the purchase of an MV1 vehicle. This vehicle is handicapped accessible and is used as part of the Senior Transportation program in Franklin Township. This grant application was written by Traci Stivers, Administrator and managed by Scot Fromeyer, Fiscal Officer.
The Franklin Township Senior Van offers free transportation to all Franklin Township residents age 60+ or any resident who is disabled.
To receive transportation you must be able to provide proof of residency by submitting two of any of the following acceptable documents:
- A valid Drivers License or State issued ID
- An utility bill dated within the last 60 days
- A letter from your employer on company letterhead
- A tax bill
- A bank statement with your name and address on it dated within the last 60 days
- A phone bill with your name and address on it dated within the last 60 days
The bus will transport residents as far north as State Route 725, as far south as State Route 63, as far east as State Route 741, and as far west as the township line.
While the Franklin Township Bus will take riders to a variety of activities and destinations, medical appointments will be given priority.
To schedule a pick up, please call 937-743-8100. Riders must schedule a minimum of 24 hours in advance. The bus is available between 8am - 6pm.

Because we want to ensure the safety of all or riders, we must insist that every rider wear a seat belt.

Denise has been with Franklin Township since 2012. A township resident, she enjoys fishing, playing computer games and spending time with her grandson!
Our drivers must have a valid Ohio drivers license, submit to random drug and alcohol screenings, background checks, and complete annual drivers training courses.
We believe we have some of the best drivers in the world. Our drivers are kind and compassionate individuals who will take great care of you, or your loved ones. Drivers will go to the door of the pick up location and assist seniors to the bus, ensure that they are safely secured in the senior van and then assist them to the door of their destination.
Franklin area churches serve free dinners on weeknights, Monday - Friday. Lunch on Wednesday and Saturday. Lunch, first Sunday of the month. Everyone welcome! See the calendar for the schedule.
