The Fiscal officer, formerly referred to as a “clerk”, is an elected official, but independent of the Township Trustees. The fiscal officer must keep an accurate record of all spending, accounts, and transactions, but has no spending authority themselves. The Township Fiscal Officer is intended to be a neutral third party who advises the Board of Trustees on the township’s financial status.
OHIO CHECKBOOK
Franklin Township is a member of Ohio’s Checkbook platform. The free online tool allows the public to view all township expenditures.
